Rihanna who is one of our times best pop artist with already six albums under her belt now, with only six years in the industry as well mhhh… *very impressive*. I’m pretty sure this young talented lady needs no intro coz everybody knows her, I mean who doesn’t know RiRi?
Rihanna recently launched her sixth studio album, yes you heard right sixth album titled Talk That Talk after her huge success with her previouss two albums Rated R and Loud. Now as usual a lot has been said about the album and as always or as to any situation there will be the positive as well as the negative side to it. So I thought to myself before believing what others had to say, why not just get myself a copy and do the judging for myself and I did just that lol…
I listenned to the first two songs on the album at first and my very first thought or take on it is was “she could’ve done better” hey coz it definitely didn’t sound like it was her best at all, but after taking some time and listening to all the tracks over and over I had a change of opinion and felt that I judged too quick like most others probably did. Honestly,I wouldn’t say that it deserves album of the year though but it’s definitely worth listening to. Through listening to the album I got to notice that a lot of the songs on the album are quite predictable (which does not necessarily mean bad) as most of the songs have some kind of sexual lyrics or talk to them, but for some reason this album shows off her vocals more than any of her past ones.
Talk That Talk for me is more like a continuation of her 5th studio album Loud, that went multi-platinum worldwide, with global sales of nearly eight million. With Loud that did so great, I have no doubt that this album will do even better.
Lyrically, the album speaks a lot of love and sexuality, and in general has higher sexual content than the previous ones.
With this album Riri caters for everyone with the mix of different genres, from club bangers, raggae to slow love jams.
List of tracks on the album:
1. You Da One
2. Where Have You Been
3. We Found Love (ft. Calvin Harris)
4. Talk That Talk ft. Jay Z
5. Cockiness
6. Birthday Cake

8. Drunk On Love
9. Roc Me Out
10. Watch n Learn

All in all I have to say that the album is worth having coz this girl just never disappoints when it comes to her music. I would rate this album 8/10 as I did say earlier that I feel that she could’ve done better.
